& Introduction
Welcome to James McAvoy Online. You may not have been able to access the site during a few weeks because we've been hacked. Thankfully, Aaron saved all the data, but it will take some time to have the old site back. For the moment, enjoy this different (and erm...quite empty) version of JMO. Sorry for the inconvenience !

Not much for today : I found a scan on Ebay from "Hotdog" magazine, issue number 54, dated October 2004. It contains a single page interview profile of James McAvoy. You can still purchase the item on Ebay but be careful, the auction will be finished on September 3rd.

We talked about it in a news on JMO two or three months ago : the rumour has now been officially confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter. James McAvoy will star in STARTER FOR TEN, produced by Tom Hanks.
He has signed to star in this coming-of-age movie being developed by Tom Hanks' production company.
McAvoy plays a working-class student who stumbles romantically and academically through his first year at a posh university in England. "Starter" is based on David Nicholls' English best-seller; Nicholls also wrote the screenplay. Also cast are Rebecca Hall and Alice Eve. A September 5 start date is scheduled. TV veteran Tom Vaughan directs.
TV alert !
WHITE TEETH is being repeated in Australia on Thursdays on the ABC starting 25/8 at 11pm. Thanks a lot to Jennifer for the alert.

Thank you so much to Lemming23 for sending some great pictures from the set of THE LAST OF SCOTLAND. Interesting hairstyle, don't you think ?

The very same and lovely Lemming23 stroke again : she scanned for us in better quality the picture of Mr Tumnus and Lucy. Enjoy !

- 20th August 2005
The Daily Record posted an article about the filming of THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND in a Scottish hospital. James McAvoy talks a bit about his co-star Gillian Anderson :
McAvoy, 25, insists Anderson is a dream to work with. He said: "She's been great - a really nice woman. Gillian's hard working and very professional."
Narnia-chroniken.de have scans from a German Cinema Magazine
which features a new picture of Mr. Tumnus with Lucy. Thanks to Nautnee for the warning !
Also updated the CHILDREN OF DUNE PREMIERE section with 16 new pictures. Thanks to Padawan for graciously sending the pics.
- 19th August 2005
James McAvoy is in the September issue of Vanity Fair. The magazine hits newsstands on August 3 in New York and Los Angeles and nationally on August 9. Jennifer Aniston is on the cover. James is in a "portraits" section about UK talents : there's a small article with an awesome new picture of James. He's with another rising actress on the picture.
- 14th August 2005
We already knew it but James' agency made it official :
After wrapping up filming of The Last King of Scotland, directed by Kevin McDonald, James will start filming Starter for Ten, directed by Tom Vaughan alongside Dan Stevens, James Corden and John Henshaw.
Tom Hanks' production house Playtone will produce the movie. The script will be written by David Nicholls who also wrote the original book. It tells the tale of a working-class Brit and his academic and romantic adventures as a high-class English university.

Forest Whitaker and the rest of the cast of Last King of Scotland, which includes fellow American actors Kerry Washington as one of Amin's wives and television star Gillian Anderson of X-Files fame, plus Scottish thespian James McAvoy as Garrigan in his first major screen role, spent two months in Uganda filming on location.
About 300 locals, including about 100 actors and extras, were employed by Cowboy Films during the $6-million shoot for the movie, which is to be released worldwide in July next year by Twentieth Century Fox International.

In the current issue of Premiere Magazine, there's a shot of James McAvoy as Mr. Tumnus speaking to Lucy. Narniafans has the scan on its website. The same picture is on the Walden Media website.
- 11th August 2005
Narniaweb has posted scans and transcripts from the latest issue of TOTAL FILM. There is a mention of Mr Tumnus :
Running around the house playing hide and seek, Lucy (Georgie Henley, wide-eyed, sweet and definitely not harpoonable) discovers The Wardrobe, slips inside and back through the forest of fur coats until. She really is in a forest; conifers shrouded in snow and a lamppost the only landmark. Then - a flicker at the edge of the frame, a sudden movement, a SCREAM.
She bumps into Mr Tumnus (James McAvoy, excellent in Stephen Fry's Bright Young Things), a half-man, half-goat creature whose cloven hooves and horned head disguise a somewhat timorous nature.
Tumnus: "You must be some kind of a beardless dwarf?"
Lucy: "I'm not a dwarf, I'm a girl. And actually I'm tallest in my class."
Tumnus: "You mean to say you're a daughter of Eve?"
Lucy: "My mum's name is Helen."
"We added some things to Tumnus," says Adamson. "We had to develop the middle section of the book a little. Basically we had to make the characters more three-dimensional.' -pause, as a million Lewis fans prepare to stone him - ".which is all there in the book, it's just much more subtle. We had to dig under the characters CS Lewis painted."
Excellent news ! Now we know that James will be more in it than Mr Tumnus was in the book. Go to Narniaweb to read the full article. Ghostwalker also sent us several other pictures of James in West London taken on July 29th.

By Margaret Agnew - The Press - October 9th, 2004
McAvoy Talks Narnia : "I'm getting to play one of my favourite characters again, so I'm very lucky. I've got so much hair covering me".
I probably missed it because it was published when we had a lot of interviews in the same time. So if you haven't read it yet, here it is. There's a small mention of James' Internet Fanbase. They also took some James' quotes from JMO. Nice thing !

Anne-Marie Duff and James McAvoy are to wed, it was reported today. The couple, who met on the set on the award-winning Manchester drama, are said to be planning to tie the knot later this year. James proposed to Anne-Marie a few weeks ago but
the couple kept their engagement a secret, telling only close friends and family.
They have yet to go public with their announcement.
One friend said: "As soon as they got together, it was obvious it was for keeps. No one is surprised that they are tying the knot. When he asked her, she burst into tears and accepted. They are just so in love and everyone is really happy for them."
We are truly delighted for both of them and everyone at JMO wish them all the best and happiness in the world !
